How to Accept a Phone Call from an Inmate: Rates and Prepaid Accounts
Inmates at the Wasatch County Jail can make phone calls by using the Evercom phone system supplied by the facility. To use the Evercom phone system, inmates can choose one of three options:
- Place a collect call. Since February 2014, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has capped interstate collect call rates at $0.25 per minute.
- Have their friends or family members load a prepaid phone account with Evercom. Of course, you don’t need to wait to be asked – you can take the initiative yourself. If you’d like to set up an Evercom phone account, simply call the Evercom customer support office at (800) 844-6591 and follow the prompts. Each time your loved one calls you, funds will be deducted from the prepaid account you set up. You will need to add more funds once they have all been depleted.
